ReplyDeleteI just want to find out, when exactly did you answer the Review Questions? I just learned that the default Date & Time on the blog is set for U.S. users. So meaning to say, if you answered it on Saturday...that's already Sunday in the Philippine setting.

ReplyDeletei know about it, kev. the problem i have right now is whether you answered the questions on time or beyond the deadline. for ur info, the default timezone of blog is set for U.S. users. in other words, if you answered them on Saturday,it would be Sunday in Philippine setting.

ReplyDeleteI knew about the default time settings. I've adjusted it a long time ago...
ReplyDeleteFYI: it adjusts the posting date when you change the settings so even if the settings change, the correct posting date (according to your selected time zone/offset) is displayed.
If you notice, time zone settings are in GMT +/- ##:##. Blogs like this (all servers to be exact) should be using UTC (Universal Coordinated Time, or Universal Time Coordinates)(that's western European time) or GMT+0:00. This is the STANDARD time. For each time zone there is a specific offset. For example, the Philippines uses GMT+08:00 (Phil. Standard Time). That means we are 8 hrs ahead of the UTC or GMT+0:00. To put it simply, if UTC is, say, [today] 01:00 pm, then to get the Philippine time, we simply add 8 hrs to it which results to [today] 09:00 pm.
My point is that when we post, the UTC time is recorded in the database NOT the time at which your current time zone setting is set. AND when displaying the posting date, the UTC time is always used plus OR minus the GMT offset setting. That's why the displayed posting date changes when you change the time zone setting.
My ultimate point is: my blog entries display the correct posting date & time since I changed the time zone setting to GMT+08:00 (Philippines). AND that I posted those on time (Dec. 18 Saturday 10:00 pm to be more exact).
By the way, GMT stands for Greenwich Mean Time :)
